Mzansi musician Babes Wodumo left South Africans in stitches on Thursday 15 July after she started an Instagram account for her and Mampintsha’s baby, Sponge Wodumo. Not only did the self-proclaimed “Queen of Gqom” start posting comments as Baby Sponge, but she also did a Q&A in which she answered as the baby.

Babes makes the most of motherhood

Gqom artist Babes Wodumo is evidently enjoying mom life. The South African musician welcomed her first child, baby Sponge Wodumo, less than a month ago and hasn’t yet shown the world his face.

She has, however, followed suit of many South African celebrities and started an Instagram account for her bundle of joy. The account already has nearly 10 000 followers with only two posts but that isn’t why the little one was trending on Twitter last night.

Entertained tweeps were left laughing out loud after noticing that Babes or perhaps Sponge’s dad, Mampintsha, were pretending to be the little one.

Many people just can’t deal with Babes and Sponge

While little Sponge is not older than a month, he was able to respond to a snap his dad posted. “Thank you dad,” read a comment from the baby’s account. Not long after that, a Question and Answer session was started on the little one’s stories.

And again, questions were being answered by mom Babes, who was having the time of her life pretending to Sponge.

Hilarious comments about little Sponge’s active IG life

Naturally, many South Africans found it all very bizarre and were soon tweeting about it resulting in the little one trending.

While some questioned Babes’s sanity, others found the entire thing very cute, after all, this isn’t the first time a mom has gone a little wild and decided to post on behalf of their baby. After seeing it, one hilarious tweep commented:
