‘My champion’: Antonela gushes over Messi’s World Cup victory

Antonela Roccuzzo celebrated her ‘champion’ husband Lionel Messi and his team Argentina’s win at the World Cup 2022 held in Qatar.

Antonela Roccuzzo gushed over her husband Lionel Messi’s victory over France at the World Cup 2022 held in Qatar on Sunday 18 December.

Antonela Roccuzzo showed her husband Lionel Messi some love after he led his country Argentina to victory. Argentina faced off against France for the World Cup final held in Qatar on Sunday 18 December. 

At 90 minutes the team drew at 2-2. There was extra time and then a penalty shoot out. Argentina then won 4-2 at the penalty shoot. Supportive wife Antonela shared a photo of her husband kissing the World Cup trophy on Instagram on 18 December. Take a look…

“MY CHAMPION ❤️,” she wrote.

Antonela also shared a snap of Messi’s “home team” – herself picture with Messi and their sons. The pair have three sons together – Thiago (10), Mateo (7) and Ciro (4).

“WORLD CHAMPIONS. I don’t even know how to start.. pride greater that we feel for you @leomessi thank you for teaching us to never give up, you have to fight q to the end FINALLY DIOOOO SOS WORLD CHAMPION WAS DOOOOOO, we know what you suffered so many years, what you wanted to get q i am !!! Messi and Antonela first went public with their romance in 2008 and tied the knot in 2017. The pair were best friends growing up.

Messi is the captain of Argentina and therefore led the team to victory in the World Cup. The football star scored a total of seven goals at the World Cup 2022. He was just one goal behind France player Kylian Mbappe who took home the golden boot for eight goals. 

Before the Argentina vs France World Cup final both Messi and Mbappe went in having scored five goals each. 

The last time Argentina won the World Cup was in 1986, which was 36 years ago.
