AMAPIANO TO THE WORLD

Amapiano is one of South Africa’s most exciting exports, receiving a nod from music and popular culture magazine Rolling Stone recently.

Focalisic scored himself a billboard in New York’s Times Square. He celebrated the billboard writing in a Twitter post in March:

“Came a long way from 2016 This is a hood dream !! New York Times Square Billboard!!! 2021, we go hard! First of many BLESS UP ASE TRAP TSE KE PINA TSA KO KASI”

Focalisic celebrated his second billboard in May. The billboard went up in London at the Holland park roundabout and was in celebration of Africa Day.

FOCALISTIC TAKES AFRICA

Focalistic remixed his Ke Star hit with Vigro Deep, as well as featuring Nigerian superstar Davido. The Ke Star remix was the first South African track to secure a spot on the Billboard charts. It is rumoured that the two artists have a collaborative project coming up…

Focalistic recently collaborated with award-winning Tanzanian artist Diamond Platinumz on his latest single, IYO. The track also featured Mapara A Jazz and Ntosh Gazi.

He has made appearances in Tanzania, Nigeria, Namibia and Kenya. Earlier this year, Focalistic was nominated for an MTV Africa Music Award in the Breakthrough Act category alongside Elaine, Tems and Sha Sha.
