Amid AKA and Thando Thabete’s cringe-worthy interview trending on Twitter, a clip of the rapper being “rude” to a journalist in a previous interview posted on Monday 13 September, has been trending.

South African rapper AKA and radio personality Thando Thabethe have been trending on Twitter following a clip of their cringe-worthy interview. During the interview Thando questioned AKA about his sit-down interview with journalist Thembekile Mrototo.

Thando said that most people thought AKA said nothing during the interview. She went on to refer to the situation as an “incident”. The rapper fired back at Thando calling his “life” an “incident” and told her it was none of her business.

The interview in question was the first and only interview where AKA opened up about what happened the weekend of his late fiancée Nelli Tembe’s death. Although Thando Thabethe said that AKA said “nothing”, his interview seemed to have cleared his name in the investigation into the 22-year-old’s death.

While the Super Soft hitmaker and Thando were trending, a Tweep posted an old clip of the rapper’s “rude” behaviour towards a journalist. In the video, the journalist asks AKA about his alleged affair on the mother of his child, DJ Zinhle with Bonang Matheba.

“I know you’ve denied the allegations that you’ve had an affair with Bonang, do you still deny them?” asks the journalist.

“Can we stop the interview? Why are they asking about this thing now?” says the rapper to what seems to be someone from his team.

“I asked about the affair allegations. I wasn’t briefed not to ask that,” responded the journalist.

The Tweep who shared the video stated that AKA is the “realest” and Thando should therefore not take his comments personally.

Tweeps took to the comments section of the video to share their thoughts. Some thought AKA has poor emotional quotient, also known as emotional intelligence. Another Twep also thought he was just “rude”.

However, AKA fans felt differently and defended the Fela in Versace hitmaker.
