‘Piss on Your Grave’: Why did AKA return to socials with THIS song?

Poor taste? Social media users were not exactly charmed by AKA’s song choice following the death of his fiancée Nelli Tembe. Here’s what Tweeps thought.

Rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known by his stage name AKA, is back in the social media streets and his recent Instagram Story posted on 6 June has raised many eyebrows for his song choice of Travis Scott’s rather distasteful Piss on Your Grave

AKA BACK ON SOCIAL MEDIA WITH A VENGEANCE

After his fiancée Anele “Nelli” Tembe plunged to her death from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel, AKA took some time off from the public eye to mourn. He handed over his social media accounts to his public relations team to handle while he stepped away from the spotlight.

AKA seems to be done mourning and is back to his old self on social media. Following previous posts of press statements, AKA’s latest posts is from a visit to Cape Town — starting with his new puppy, followed by a picture of himself and then a video of him playing basketball with a few children in Mitchells Plain.

AKA’s new dog, named Mr Lou, also known as King Louie the 13th Forbes has his own Instagram account and has racked up more than 2400 followers in a matter of three days. Mr Lou can be seen playing with AKA and DJ Zinhle’s daughter, Kiaro Forbes, in an Instagram post

SUPA MEGA ALSO BACK IN STUDIO

This comes after “top fan” and promoter Rubu Thulisa tweeted that AKA is back in the studio recording new music. Later, Mpumalanga-born artist Oscar Mbo retweeted Thulisa’s tweet saying that he is so tempted to play the new record on his Instagram story but he has to respect the process.

AKA POSTS TRAVIS SCOTT’S ‘PISS ON YOUR GRAVE’

During his posting spree, AKA posted a video of himself smoking on his Instagram Story, but it was his song choice that caught the attention of Tweeps who thought he was on “the worst level of toxic”.

The Fela in Versace hitmaker chose to use Travis Scott’s Piss on Your Grave on his story which many thought was odd considering he just lost his fiancee.

The rapper recently did a tell-all interview with eNCA journalist Thembekile Mrototo in which he claimed to have loved Nelli Tembe and that he always treated her like gold. However, his song choice to have left many with questions about its appropriateness.

TWEEPS REACT TO AKA SONG CHOICE

Tweeps were outraged at AKA’s lack of sensitivity with the choice of music he displayed on his story to his 2.9 million Instagram followers.

However, some people defended AKA.
