YouTuber Slik Talk has blamed AKA for his own death after he claimed the rapper ‘ignored’ multiple warnings to stay away from Durban.

Celebrity commentator Slik Talk has weighed in on the death of South African rapper AKA, insisting the artist was “partially to blame” for ignoring calls to visit Durban.

The YouTuber shared his honest opinion in his latest video. 

AKA and his best friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane was shot and killed on Friday, 10 February, on Florida Road in Durban. Police are investigating two counts of murder.

WAS AKA ‘BANNED IN DURBAN’?

According to Sunday Times, AKA had reportedly received multiple warnings to stay away from Durban. This, following the mysterious death of his fiancee Anele Nelli Tembe in 2021.

A source told the publication: “I don’t know whether you say it was arrogance, or if he [AKA] was just hard-headed, but he and people around him had been told that he must not set foot in Durban,.”

The source added: “This wasn’t the first time [since Anele’s death] that he was in the city, but before, he was always low-key about this presence.”

AKA previously performed in Durban at a Durban July after-party last year.

SLIK TALK WEIGHS IN: ‘HE WAS CARELESS

Meanwhile, Slik Talk has had harsh words for the late rapper, whose shooting was leaked via CCTV footage on Saturday.

The outspoken YouTuber even went as far as claiming that the rapper was “careless” in his movements.

He said: “AKA had received multiple warnings never to set foot in Durban…and he did it anyway. Even though he knew he wasn’t good in Durban

“You were never free to roam the streets because they still hadn’t forgiven you for what you did to their sunflower [Nelli Tembe]. People don’t just move on; that’s not how life works”.

Slik Talk continued: “The ignorance and naivety of posting locations showing people where you are. You have to be cautious at all times; you have to move accordingly.

“AKA was careless with his movements. We have to learn from his mistakes. You are partly to blame for this because you didnt take the necessary precautions”.
