Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker recently spoke up after she was shamed for aging. Speaking during a recent interview, Parker addressed harsh comments about her appearance after many people headed online to speak about the fact that she now has wrinkles and grey hair – something that naturally comes with the aging process.

Sarah Jessica Parker claps back hard

56-year-old US actress Sarah Jessica Parker has graced our screens for many years and certainly earned her stripes as a talented actress. Years ago she starred in the adult comedy Sex and the City and was so good that many called for the show to make a comeback.

The calls were answered and saw Sarah and some of her former cast members were back in action for a reboot of the hit series which they are calling And Just Like That.

Parker then did a cover shoot for Vogue and simultaneously addressed the fact that she and the other ladies from Sex and the City were receiving a lot of nasty comments about the way they were aging – and judging by what she had to say, she was far from impressed.

The star blames misogynistic tendencies

”Grey hair grey hair grey hair. Does she have grey hair?” Sarah continued, ‘I’m sitting with Andy Cohen, and he has a full head of grey hair, and he’s exquisite. Why is it okay for him?’

“I don’t know what to tell you, people! Especially on social media. Everyone has something to say. ‘She has too many wrinkles, she doesn’t have enough wrinkles.”

She also added how it was haplessly misogynistic and rarely happens with men.

“There’s so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would never. Happen. About. A. Man,” Sarah said, emphasizing each word with a clap, Daily Mail reports.

More shaming and some defending

Many people have since taken to Twitter where they either defended the star or made more jokes about her appearance.

“Sarah Jessica Parker spent years and made millions humping an unrealistic standard of beauty and a wildly unattainable luxury lifestyle. But now she’s angsty about any criticism. Boohoo.”

@KimInsley said:

“Forget about whether we need a SATC remake. Why are middle aged women criticized for showing their aging faces while men are lauded for being “mature” and “distinguished”? A face with life experience is beautiful, too.”
