‘I drank pills and Jik’: Actress Vatiswa Ndara on her suicide attempt

Former ‘Muvhango’ actress Vatiswa Ndara has opened up about her suicide attempt and sexual harassment in her book ‘Unfiltered’.

The talented actress Vatiswa Ndara, who played Modiehi in Muvhango revealed on King David’s podcast that she was going through a dark time when she tried to commit suicide and being sexually harassed.

The former Igazi and Muvhango actress Vatiswa Ndara also told David that she’s opened up about her suicide attempt and sexual harassment in her book Unfiltered

“I took Jeyes Fluid, Handy Andy, pills, and Jik. So you can imagine when the contents wanted to come out.”

The star also detailed how she was sexually harassed by her friend, who’s a TV executive.

“I asked him to meet with me and he agreed. We met at the SABC and he suggested that we drive to Soweto. On our way, he decided to go and cut his hair while I waited in the car. He came back and suggested that we have dinner, and I agreed. He later took me to his house.”

According to Daily Sun, Ndara said that at some point he grabbed her breasts and told her this is a man’s world in the car. She got out of the situation by making him believe they would go to a hotel the next day and switched off her phone the next day.

VATISWA NDARA: ‘STRUGGLING TO GET JOBS’

The Home Affairs actress Vatiswa Ndara also tells Daily Sun that she’s been struggling to secure jobs since she exposed the entertainment industry.

“I have hardly received offers or been called for auditions and if any, they are few and far between as you sense that I am deemed person non grata (an unacceptable person). And to be honest, it was expected.”

“My gripe and advocacy against the malpractices did not begin with the open letter that makes reference to the Fergusons, I urge people to read the book so they can make informed comments.”
