Aaron Carter has tragically died after his body was discovered in a bath on Saturday. The singer and former child star was just 34 years old.

Sadly, Aaron – the younger brother of Backstreet Boy member Nick Carter – was known more for his troubled life than his music career.

AARON CARTER FOUND DEAD

According to TMZ, the body of Aaron Carter was found after a 911 call was made about a drowning.

Representatives of the singer said in a statement: “It is with great regret to confirm Aaron Carter was found unresponsive this a.m. in his home in Palmdale, CA.

“The family has been notified and will be flying out to Los Angeles. Aaron worked very hard towards the end of his life in recovery, to be a good father and to make amends with his family.”

A cause of death has yet to be established.

Aaron leaves behind an 11-month-old son with his ex-fiancee Melanie Martin.

DOWNWARD SPIRAL IN RECENT YEARS

Before his death, Aaron Carter has been a regular feature in tabloids over his troubled life.

Drug abuse

Aaron was addicted to several drugs, including benzodiazepines, opiates, marijuana, and others. He had two stints in rehab

The singer also admitted to being “heavy into drinking” and had multiple DUI arrests.

Physical and mental health

During a 2019 appearance on The Doctors, Aaron Carter revealed that he had been diagnosed with multiple personality disorders, schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety.

Aaron claimed his drastic weight loss was due to his body dysmorphia causing him to develop eating disorders.

Substance abuse in the family

Like Aaron, his older sister Leslie also grappled with substance abuse. She died from a prescription drug overdose in 2012. His older brother Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys fame also opened up about his alcohol, cocaine, and prescription drugs addiction.

Aaron’s mother has also admitted to being an alcoholic, and drinking “drinking 2 to 3 pints of vodka a day”.

Family estrangement

Aaron Carter had a very dysfunctional relationship with his family, whom he was estranged from in recent years.

In 2019, older brother Nick filed a restraining order against Aaron, after he claimed his younger sibling expressed intentions to “harm” his pregnant wife and their unborn baby.

Anger and domestic abuse

Aaron Carter’s recent relationships have been plagued with allegations of domestic disputes and aggression.

Earlier this year, Aaron’s ex-fiancee accused him of breaking three of her ribs during a heated altercation.
