Emtee on stage, signalling end to rap beef

For the past two years, the two prolific rappers have entertained a “rap beef” which started when an explicit video of Emtee was shared onto his Instagram account.

The viral video caught Cassper’s attention – who then tweeted about it, laughing at the situation. Emtee fired right back, declaring he would never work with the motswako muso again. This was all put behind them though when Emtee performed a slew of his hits at Cassper’s concert.

When the 30-year-old released Superman, featuring Tsepho Tshola, on his Thuto album in 2017, the song was widely hailed as an anthem to celebrate the commitment and presence of full-time fathers.

On Sunday, Cassper brought out his father, Letsebela Phoolo, to perform the song with him on stage. It was an endearing moment which left the crowd emotional and no doubt, nostalgic.

While Cassper’s #FillUp campaign had the backing of the North West government and ran a project to empower local youth in the run-up to the concert, Cassper’s generosity was even more evident as he gifted a disabled man with a ticket to the golden circle.

The university student tweeted that he couldn’t access the event after tickets were sold out. Cassper then tweeted back that he would arrange special access for him and his friends.
