South Africans truly have a knack for finding humour in the darkest of times. While the world worries over the fate of Ukraine as Russia’s rage continues, they have found humour in what appears to be a photoshopped image of Russian President Vladimir Putin supposedly “plotting to make a move on Durban”.

The photo has been a big source of laughter as South Africans wish Durbanites well.

Putin ‘plotting’ about Durban, SA can’t deal

On Monday 28 February, a Twitter user with the handle @Life_After_18 shared a photo of Vladimir Putin sitting in a jet while pointing his finger towards Durban on a map.

The image, which was likely photoshopped by a South African with a daring sense of humour, has left thousands of local Twitter users in stitches as they imagine what it would be like for Durban residents if the city was invaded by Russian troops.

The image was captioned in isiZulu with a shocked face emoji:

“He is pointing at Durban.”

Hilarious comments

Needless to say, South Africans flocked to the comment section to share funny jokes about the people of Durban and how they would deal with Putin and his troops.

Some said they would be leaving Durban with immediate effect. Hilariously, a lot of other people joked that former president Jacob Zuma would protect the Zulu nation!

Here are a few of their comments:

@Lefaleftus said:

“RIP in advance, it was good knowing you Durban guys, I will inherit eYadin.”

@lamula_simphiwe wrote:

“I am also leaving Durban this man is so dangerous.”

@BenzimoIV added:

“He understands that if he’s gonna take on Mzansi, he must first take out Zuma.”
