Former Chicago Bulls basketball player Michael Jordan has worked tirelessly to become one of the richest retired sports stars in the world. Jordan has an exclusive golf course, a tequila brand and if you didn’t know… A private jet!

According to The Richest, Jordan’s 16-passenger private jet cost him $62 million (R960 million).

MICHAEL JORDAN’S ROLLS ROYCE-THEMED JET

The Richest reports that the businessman’s private jet is possibly worth more than R960 million due to the renovations it has undergone in the last few years.

The 59-year-old’s luxury private jet originally had a powder blue and white wrap to celebrate his former university, the University of North Carolina, but in 2017 it was redesigned and changed into a grey, white and black colour which honoured his Air Jordan sneakers.

The plane’s engines, which are from Rolls Royce, are branded “N236MJ” which references his basketball number, 23, the number of titles he’s won in the sport and his initials.

Michael Jordan always travels in style and his private jet is no different! The Air Jordan-themed jet includes a recliner seat, a dining area and large windows for every passenger to admire the sky.

Other additions include a private bedroom, a bed and a bathroom.

Some of his closest friends including professional golfer Tiger Woods and basketball legend Scottie Pippen have all flown on the private jet.

SOME OF MICHAEL JORDAN’S INVESTMENTS

The legendary basketball player opened his exclusive golf course in 2019 and the membership list has less than 100 names on it. The 18-hole course has a drone that serves drinks to players, lounge areas and a state-of-the-art locker room.

In 2010, Jordan became the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets, a basketball team based in North Carolina. Reuters reported that he bought the team for $180 million (R2.6 trillion).
