Elon Musk’s dad reveals text he sent him after disaster interview

It seems Elon Musk got wind of comments made by his father Errol Musk during an interview last week, and the 53-year-old isn’t too pleased.

The 76-year-old South African engineer called into the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Australian radio Monday, 1 August 2022 and on the agenda, was of course his billionaire son. When they asked him if he was proud of Elon and his achievements, he responded: “No. You know, we are a family that have been doing a lot of things for a long time, it’s not as if we suddenly started doing something.”

Now, Errol Musk has told Daily Mail Australia that the comments he made in the interview, including about Elon, were misunderstood and that he didn’t properly hear the question.

Musk says his daughters were so upset with him after the interview that they refused to speak with him for days. Speaking about Elon’s reaction, Errol says he simply laughed it off and knows he wasn’t being serious.

“Elon knows it’s not true, so he would never get upset about it. He just laughs this kind of stuff off,” he said.

Musk added: “But the last message Elon sent to me was ‘Dad, the press play you like a fiddle so please keep quiet'”

In the radio interview, Errol was also asked about ‘unflattering’ shirtless pictures of Elon on vacaction in Greece, which caused quite a stir online. In the photos, Musk appears to have put on some weight, which Errol has apparently advised him against. He told the radio show that he told his son to eat better and take a supplement.

“Elon is very strongly built but he’s been eating badly,” he said.

Musk said he recommended that the Tesla founder take garcinia cambogia – a supplement that can supposedly aid weight loss without additional exercise or dieting.

The father and son’s relationship has been strained since it was learnt that Errol fathered two children with his own stepdaughter.
