Before the clock struck 12 on Monday, 1 May, Checkers’s online stores had officially sold out of stock of Prime drinks, made by YouTube and TikTok sensations Logan Paul and KSI.
Now in a desperate attempt to get their hands on just eight 500ml drinks, shoppers are braving long queues and even stampedes.
Last week, Checkers announced news of their status as official product stockists, selling the popular drink for just R40.

According to Checkers, Prime drink stock has already sold out on their Sixty60 app.
This, following their invitation for shoppers to gain early access the night before to purchasing the popular drink.
According to many shoppers, the online store crashed shortly after early access at 22:00 on Sunday.

Shoppers are now being directed to visit their local physical stores.
Meanwhile, social media users are sharing photos and videos of long queues and large crowds at their local Checkers stores.
And many of the consumers are young, overly enthusiastic shoppers.
