I LOVE YOU BEAR-Y MUCH

Veronika’s Instagram account is filled with pics showing Archie, a wild brown bear, giving her hugs and kisses, as well as playfully wrestling her.

And the love is no doubt real – Veronika rescued him from a safari park after it went bankrupt during the pandemic. Prior to that, Archie performed tricks in a circus, where he was mistreated and starved

According to Veronika, the animal was born into captivity, and only knows life with humans. She said in an Instagram post: “He sees me as a member of his family, we share food, [he] sleeps in my arms when afraid, and hides behind me.

“We can’t release him into the wild as he has lived in captivity his whole life”.

And speaking of his love of fishing, with a fishing rod no less, Veronika added: “Archie spends every day with us and is madly in love with water. He loves it very much when I take him to new places”.

According to wildlife experts, brown bears can grow up to 3 metres tall when standing on their hind legs and weigh up to 600 kg.

A COCKROACH FOR A PET?

Veronika is not the only woman who’s gone viral over her unlikely friendship – an Australian woman has had the Internet fascinated – and disgusted – with her unusual pet – a cockroach!

Lisa van Kula Donovan, a budding entomologist has her Instagram followers intrigued by her love of insects, and in particular her back-flipping cockroach.

Sharing a video of the creepy crawly, Lisa wrote: “Cockroaches are not viewed the same way here as they are in other countries. Here (Queensland specifically) we don’t get a really cold or long winter, so cockroaches are pretty common everywhere.

“Coming from America, it took me a while to get over the stigma with these guys, but now I don’t mind them”

Lisa also boasts other bugs as besties – including beetles, grasshoppers and spiders!
