In Voices of Powerful Women, the author invites the reader into a conversation with a series of powerful women from right around the world. You feel as if you are sitting across from Dame Judi Dench, discussing worst fears with Kim Phuc or talking about their biggest inspirations with Isabel Allende, Mary Robinson and Shami Chakrabati.

Zoe Sallis asks questions such as “What inspires you?”, “What makes you angry?” and “Do you think we will ever be able to achieve equality”? She elicits answers which not only give hope, but reflects the beauty that comes from celebrating our differences.

Maya Angelou, who is featured in Voices of Powerful Women, describes it as “remarkable questions answered by remarkable women… a fascinating collection”.

Memorable quotes from ‘Voices of Powerful Women’

One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential.

Aspiration, not necessarily achievement, is what shows us the heart and mind of a person.

My heart was like a cup of bitter coffee, which I had to pour out every day — my own darkness, my hatred and bitterness.

I always feel sad that we still live in a society where there is a concerted effort to make heroes out of men and not out of women.

There is more to life than just success, because you can be very successful and end up being lonely.
