When Tshepo Yadilemo lost his job, he was determined that he would not lose his car as well. Instead of waiting for it to be repossessed, he quickly began thinking about how he could make some money in order to continue making his monthly car payments. And so he came up with the idea to sell biscuits to hungry commuters who are always looking to buy a snack in the morning as they make their way to work.

According to a Twitter post that has gone viral, even though he is up at dawn every morning, he is now able to pay most of his bills.

Man sells biscuits to pay his bills, SA is inspired

South Africa’s unemployment rate is at an all-time high and many people are absolutely desperate to find ways to stay afloat.

One man refused to become a part of the statistic after he lost his job and so he didn’t.

Taking to Twitter on 22 August this year, @tshepo_yadimelo shared how he did not want to lose his Mini Cooper car when he suddenly became unemployed.

And so instead of waiting around, he started selling biscuits at a local taxi rank.

He also explained that he is still actively looking for work but in the meantime can make payments for his car.

“After losing my Job I knew that my Mini will get repossessed so I decided to bake and sell biscuits at Bloemfontein Mangaung Taxi Rank every morning from 4 am. I’m still applying for jobs but I’m selling every day until I get a job. I pay my car monthly on time.”

Mzansi is inspired

His post received over 19k reactions as many headed to the comment section to commend his “can do” spirit.
