It isn’t every day a real-life bear gatecrashes your birthday party. A large brown bear made a two-year-old’s celebration way more memorable after deciding to stop by and grab a bunch of sweet cupcakes before taking off.

A clip that has since gone viral on social media shows the black bear licking his lips as he savours some of the cupcakes he managed to get his paws on.

Hungry bear gatecrashes party, steals some cupcakes

A Connecticut family got the birthday surprise of their lives earlier this month after a big black bear gatecrashed their son’s second birthday.

The animal, which reportedly came from a wooded area near the family’s West Hartford house, casually entered the backyard where two-year-old Cyrus was celebrating his birthday with his mom and dad Rauf and Laura Majidian.

Fearless and famished, the bear went straight for the snack table where it started gobbling down some cupcakes before trying to get its hands on some juice.

Scared for their lives, adult family members who were enjoying the festivities, shared with WTNH News how everyone had tried to scoop up the children who were running and playing around while pretty much oblivious to the dangerous animal in their midst.

All is well that ends well

While some took refuge in the garage, others ran to their cars to try and “hoot” the bear away.

“All the grownups, we were screaming at the bear. He wasn’t fazed,” dad Rauf recalled while mom Laura said:

“A little scared, I’m a little freaked out, but everyone is safe.”

Meanwhile, the bear eventually walked off with a mouth covered in frosting and a tummy that was clearly satisfied with the meal of the day.
