The rapper just can’t avoid getting into trouble for saying the wrong things… But this time he could be on to something.

AKA may have just brewed up what we will know as South African Hip Hop’s first female rap beef and the streets are loving every bit of the rapper’s pettiness.

AKA in the spotlight again: His thoughts on rap beef

AKA, who is at the furthest point of the Cape — presumably shooting for an upcoming Cruz Vodka commercial — took some time to stir up controversy on social media, on Tuesday.

The rapper, refreshed from a successful weekend in Pretoria, shared his thoughts on the future of South African Hip Hop. Without a doubt, the torch has been handed over to the female MCs who, for the most part of the year, have dominated the charts — and numbers don’t lie.

But AKA believes that the industry will have a lot more to gain if there is a rap beef between two females.

The contestants that have been thrown into the ring

Of course, rap is a sport played with the ego, and the tweet, which was retweeted more than _ times, landed on the timelines of South Africa’s leading rap femme fatales, including Rouge.

The rapstress made it abundantly clear, before the conversation departed to other places, that she was the best female rapper alive, in South Africa.

The fans, catching the wave of excitement in what’s becoming a top trend in the country, dragged other female rappers into the conversation, calling Rouge out for apparently not being a better MC than the rookie of the year, Boity Thulo, who may or may not be on her way back to South Africa from Seville, where she bossed the red carpet at the MTV EMAs 2019.

Boity has yet to retort any subliminal jab flung by Rouge. AKA, being his petty self, only fanned the flames further when he came across one of Rouge’s ranty tweets about being the best rapper.

This, however, did not sit well with his arch-nemesis, the ‘other guy’, also known as Cassper Nyovest. The self-proclaimed Mufasa tweeted, in disgust, at how disappointed he was in a “grown man advising women to fight for profit.”
