In the spirit of Ubuntu and freedom, various musicians and DJ’s from around the world are pledging their 67 minutes to spread a message of hope, freedom, resilience and unity through the Afree Fest Musical Festival, a 24-hour free-to-view music festival, this Mandela Day.

It is said that apart form performing, each of the participating musicians, artists, comedians and creatives will share a personal 67 second (or longer) message of inspiration to the world.

About Afree Fest

According to its official website, the festival is ultimately inspired by the African term of ‘Ubuntu’. Afree Fest is said to be a platform that was “created by the people, for the people to share creative cultural experiences in art, music, and comedy”.

The festival that was created to give fans of music, art and creativity a space in which they can pause, breathe and connect with themselves and others,” festival organisers told SA Music News.
