3 men run from Pretoria to Cape Town for a worthy cause

Three friends left on 16 June from Pretoria to run to Cape Town in order to raise funds for Home of Hope – an organisation that takes care of children in need.

Home of Hope was founded in 2005 by Eleanor Brook, whose faith and personal experience of having spent time in a children’s home, initiated the decision to open a place of safety for vulnerable and abandoned children.

Jason Knoetze, one of the runners, spent some time at Home of Hope and it was quickly decided that the purpose of his journey would be to run in order to raise funds for the charity that means so much to him.

Jason’s passion for what he was to embark on, encouraged two of his friends, Yorke Scott and Miguel Thomaz, to join him on his epic run – a journey that is roughly 1600km long, and due to take 40 days.
