21 years of helping children in need through the Children’s Hospital Trust

The Children’s Hospital Trust raises funds for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in Cape Town. The Hospital sees over 260 000 patients from around Africa each year, a third of whom are younger than a year.

The Children’s Hospital Trust was established in 1994 to raise funds for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital – the largest stand-alone tertiary hospital in sub-Saharan Africa, dedicated entirely to children. Funds raised are allocated to upgrade its buildings, purchase state-of-the-art equipment and to develop its professional staff – ensuring that this iconic hospital retains its world-class stature.

The Children’s Hospital Trust is driven by our commitment to get children back home where they belong – safe from injury and the burden of disease that is rife on the African continent. We believe that every day spent in hospital is a day less of childhood.

On 6 March 2016, the Cape Town Cycle Tour kicks off and cyclists come from far and wide to take part of this epic race; at the same time experiencing 109km of sheer South African beauty.

The Children’s Hospital Trust offer charity spots for the race to those people who’d like to test their endurance while contributing to a great cause at the same time.

If you’re keen, the package includes awesomely branded T-shirts and will have the opportunity to contribute towards the R100-million upgrade and expansion of the Paediatric ICU at the Hospital.
