Newly elected Premier of Free State to deliver SOPA tomorrow

The newly-elected Premier together with the Speaker Hon. Zanele Sifuba undertook a dry run to assess the state of readiness for SOPA.

Newly elected Premier of the Free State, Honourable Mxolisi Dukwana is scheduled to deliver his highly-anticipated State Of the Province Address (SOPA23) on Tuesday, 28 February 2023.

The occasion will take place at the University of the Free State (Vista Campus) at 10H00, according to the Free State Provincial Government.

Today, Monday, 27 February, the newly-elected Premier together with the Speaker of the Free State Legislature, Hon. Zanele Sifuba undertook a dry run at the UFS to assess the state of readiness and to make final inputs to prepare for tomorrow’s very important occasion.

WHAT HON. DUKWANA PROMISES FOR SOPA

SOPA 23 promises to outline strategic programmes that will attract foreign direct investment, accelerate growth and development, unlock new economic frontiers and activate the full economic potential of the province.

“Fundamentally, SOPA will outline a forward-thinking program to dispense basic service delivery provision and to tackle the triple challenges of unemployment, poverty and inequality.”

HON. DUKWANA WINS VOTES TO BE FIRST RESIDENT OF THE PROVINCE

Hon. Premier Mxolisi Dukwana gave an inspiring and purpose-driven inaugural address, filled with hope and optimism for the future of both young and old people of Free State province after being elected with an overwhelming majority as the new Premier of the Free State province on 24 February.

” I, Mxolisi Dukwana, solemnly affirm that I will be faithful to the Republic of South Africa and will obey, respect and uphold the Constitution and all other law of the Republic; and I undertake to hold my office as Premier of the province of the Free State with honour and dignity; to be a true and faithful counsellor; not to divulge directly or indirectly any secret matter entrusted to me; and to perform the functions of my office conscientiously and to the best of my ability, ” said Premier Dukwana, while taking an Oath of Office.
