Feeling peckish? It’s wintertime and it is common to feel a constant need to nibble on something tasty. This tuna pâté recipe is incredibly palatable and will satisfy that desire to snack on something delicious.

The best thing about this tuna pâté recipe is that it is very simple to make. It is also super quick to whip together. In less than 15 minutes, you can have your snack attack under control. Tuna is the perfect option to snack on as it is packed with omega 3 fatty acids which will give you a sensation of feeling full for longer.

Tuna is also a rich source of vitamin B12 which helps your body to form new red blood cells and prevents anaemia.

This tuna pâté is perfect to serve as a dip or pâté with a selection of biscuits, bread-sticks and cucumber slices. If there are any leftovers, then you can add this tangy spread to sandwiches or wraps the next day.

Ingredients

  • 170 g 170 tuna, drained

  • 1 1 spring onion, chopped

  • 1 clove 1 garlic, diced

  • 30 ml 30 cream cheese

  • 1 ml 1 Tabasco sauce

  • 5 ml 5 lemon juice

  • 1 small 1 onion, chopped

  • fresh black pepper

  • 30 ml 30 melted butter

Method

  • In a blender, mix all the ingredients together.
  • Scoop the mixture into a small serving bowl.
  • Pour the melted butter over the mixture.
  • Place in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving.
