If you are a fan of seafood, this seafood marinara is a must-try. Packed with delicious, creamy flavours, this dish is a real taste sensation.

Seafood marinara is a dish of mixed seafood cooked in an appetising sauce and served with rice or pasta. You can decide what type of seafood to add to the mix, but we have tried to include something of everything in this recipe to keep it interesting.

If there is any seafood ingredient you feel will go well with this seafood marinara, you can certainly do so. Just make sure of its cooking time as it may be different to the combination we have in this mix.

This recipe comes together really quickly. You can serve dinner within 40 minutes from starting with your food preparations.

Serve on a bed of softly cooked pasta for a meal packed with comfort. If you prefer rice, you can also serve seafood marinara on rice. Garnish with fresh parsley or coriander for extra flavour.

Ingredients

  • 1 1 onion, sliced

  • 1-2 1-2 tomatoes, diced

  • 2 cloved 2 garlic, crushed

  • 400 g 400 mussels (in the shell)

  • 400 g 400 calamari strips

  • 400 g 400 large shrimp

  • 2 tablespoons 2 fish spice

  • 1 teaspoon 1 salt

  • ½ teaspoon ½ fresh black pepper

  • juice of a lemon

  • 1 teaspoon 1 honey

  • 125 ml 125 cream

  • 100 ml 100 white wine (optional)

  • 30 ml 30 butter

Method

  • In a large saucepan, fry the onion, garlic and tomato in the butter. 
  • Add the mussels, prawn and calamari strips.
  • Spice with fish spice, salt and pepper. 
  • Add the wine, lemon juice and honey.
  • Let it simmer for 15 minutes. 
  • Add the cream, stir it gently for five minutes.
  • Serve on a bed of your favourite pasta or rice and garnish with fresh parsley or coriander.
