As many of us have learnt, our favourite fast-food spots are closed during lockdown. Only places which distribute essential items are open, like supermarkets and pharmacies. How is KFC not an essential service though? We wonder about that too.

If you’re craving KFC and are having to live a life of home-cooked meals day and night, then you may want to try this trialled and tested recipe

UK man says he has perfected the KFC recipe

A man in the United Kingdom (UK) by the name of Dan Fell tweeted that after 18 months of testing, he finally perfected KFC’s secret chicken recipe at home.

On 28 March, he said: “Took me 18 months but I replicated it. You have to have a deep fryer and you need the right mix of the herbs and spices. Oil needs to be 160-165C no more and no less. Chicken needs to be room temperature and you use egg white and milk as the wash (no yolk). Made it about 30 times.”

Did he really pull off the colonel’s secret chicken recipe? We’ll only know if we try it at home. It’s not like we have anything better to do during lockdown.

Besides, if you cooked, that means someone else has to clean and that’s a victory all on its own.
