Often, you want to help the person you’re cooking for to get better as soon as possible, which makes this easy recipe your best bet. It only takes some browing of chicken and then adding everything into the pot. Protein in the chicken keeps the body strong while turmeric has shown many advantages to your health, including it’s anti-inflammatory attributes. Mushrooms provide fibre and other great nutrients and adds to the meatiness and comfort with each bite.

Healing Turmeric Chicken Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp 2 olive oil, avocado oil, unrefined coconut oil or ghee

  • 2 2 shallots

  • 5 5 cloves fresh garlic

  • 700 g 700 bonesless skinless chicken breast or thights

  • 225 g 225 mushrooms

  • 5 5 celery ribs

  • 1 cup 1 uncooked brown rice

  • 6 cups 6 chicken or turkey bone broth

  • 2 cups 2 water

  • 2 tbsp 2 freshly grated ginger

  • 2-3 tsp 2-3 turmeric powder

  • Cayenne pepper

  • freshly ground pepper and sea salt

Method

  • Cook the rice in your preferred manner.
  • In a large pot, add all oils with garlic, shallots, mushroom. Fry until braised then add chicken and fry until browned.  
  • Add your 1 tbsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp ginger and let it simmer. Add the rest of the ingredients, let it simmer for 25 to 30 minutes.
