‘Umkhokha’ producer Mandla KaNozulu ‘removed’ from own show

‘Umkhokha’ producer Mandla KaNozulu says he’s been fired from the series turned telenovela ‘Umkhokha: The Curse’.

The producer of Umkhokha Mandla KaNozulu revealed on Facebook that he was fired from his own production, now titled Umkhokha: The Curse.

Daily Sun reports that Mandla KaNozulu, who is known for producing Umkhokha revealed on his Facebook account that he was removed from the show, which returned as a telenovela in March.

“I wish to inform all followers of my work that I was removed last year from Umkhokha: The Curse which starts to air today(Sunday). I have decided to release this statement so that you, the viewers who like the new show, will give credit to the people who produced it and not me,” he said.

KaNozulu added that Lamontville Cultural Ensemble also withdrew their music, except for their award-winning opening track, Mkhululi wezoni.

KaNozulu thanked viewers for the support they gave to the show and wished the new show all the best.

MZANSI MAGIC CONFIRMS PRODUCER EXITED ‘UMKHOKHA: THE CURSE’

Daily Sun adds that Mzansi Magic confirmed that the producer Mandla KaNozulu was not part of The Curse but didnt reveal why he left.

An insider from the show revealed to the publication that KaNozulu and Duma kaNdlovu did not get along. 

The source added that their fight was so bad that Duma fired Mandla from his own production company… Duma owns Word of Mouth Production, which has been producing SABC2 soapie Muvhango for over two decades. 

The producer Duma kaNdlovu did not respond to calls, texts, or WhatsApp messages from Daily Sun.
