Season five of The Queen began and ended with an action-packed episode which gave viewers pure adrenaline, and an exceptional storyline.

All the action: ‘The Queen’ season five

  • We met Rapulana Seiphemo who plays ‘bad cop’ Hector Sebata at the beginning of season five when he got off a helicopter in his police uniform, armed and ready to kill Harriet Khoza played by Connie Ferguson.
  • Hector’s plans got ruined when he killed Jerry Maake (Shona Ferguson) and Harriet’s daughter Kea Khoza (Dineo Langa) instead of killing Harriet.
  • His daughter Thando Sebata played by Jessica Nkosi showed us a vulnerable and mad side of her that we haven’t seen all season.
  • Friday’s episode (23 July) reminded us of the corrupt, heartless, and powerful Hector Sebata that was promised to us in the beginning, a man that was ready to take down the Khozas.

So what made the episode unique and different from all others?

HECTOR AND HARRIET’S VULNERABILITY

Hector and Harriet were opening up to each other upstairs in Harriet’s bedroom while there were people getting shot downstairs, in Harriet’s house.

The Sebata and Khoza guards were shooting each other, dying one by one while Rapulana and Connie reminded us of their on-screen romance from Generations: The Legacy as Karabo Moroka and Tau Mogale.

THANDO’S SADNESS

Jessica Nkosi as Thando Sebata reminded us of Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider with her walk, her bulletproof vest, and her thirst for revenge.

She’s been reeling since her sister’s passing and showed us a sensitive yet angry side of her that we didn’t see all season.

Fans were in awe of her performance for the first time since she joined the show and they can’t wait to see more of her.

THE KHOZAS FEARLESSNESS

Brutus (Themba Ndaba), Kagiso (Loyiso McDonald) , and Shaka (SK Khoza) fought a good fight and were armed and ready to die for their family.

They never backed down even when Thando Sebata and her guards held them prisoner in their own home and won the battle.

Fans applauded Kagiso who showed bravery throughout the entire episode, even when he got shot.
