Fans of the educational soapie also wanted to know if the actors Vusi Leremi, who plays Clement, and Ori played by actor Prince Magoai were gay in real life as they’re convincing in the soapie.

It is unclear if Mogoai is gay in real life though actor Vusi Leremi, who’s been playing Clement for a decade revealed in a 2020 interview with TshisaLive that he had to do a lot of research to understand his gay role.

The fan-favourite couple were targeted for their sexual orientation on Friday’s episode and were attacked by nyaope boys before the police rescued them.

Clemeny’s aunt Pretty and her boyfriend Lehasa (Cedric Fourie) also come through for them when they learned they were victims of a hate crime while on their baecation.

Clement is the show’s first gay character who came out in 2020, embraces his sexuality, and has finally found someone he loves since being dumped by his partner, Tlotliso last year (2021).

The TVSA August teasers reveal that his grandmother Mantuli, who judged him for being gay will have a change of heart when she learns they were discriminated against and were victims of hate crime.

The Tuesday 30 August teaser reads:

“MaNtuli has a change of heart about Ori following the Hartees ordeal.”

Clement will also have an opportunity to share his story live on air on the last day of August.

“Clement finally tells his story to live on air.”
