MUVHANGO ‘FIRES’ KK MULAUDZI AND MULALO

Sources from Muvhango production revealed to Daily Sun that actors MacDonald Ndou and Sydney Ramakuwela who played the roles of KK Mulaudzi and Mulalo Mukwevho for more than a decade were fired from the soapie.

“Cast members were shocked to find out that those two wouldn’t be returning to the show. This is because even though we don’t know what happened, some actors like Mukondeleli (Elsie Rasalanavho) were given contracts that would last half the new season. But clearly, their issue was big because they didn’t even get that chance.”

Another source from the show told the publication that both Ndou and Ramakuwela found out about their exits from fellow actors.

The source adds that their contracts expired in 2021 and they heard their contracts wouldn’t get renewed from cast members.

“Writers open three months before actors, so they knew all along but still didn’t alert them.”

MACDONALD NDOU AND SYDNEY RAMAKUWELA SPEAK OUT

The mole also told the People’s Paper that Sydney Ramakuwela who was with Muvhango for 15 years was upset about being dropped.

“The day contracts were renewed, he received an email saying he was being moved from a global contract to a call contract. He didn’t sign it because he knew that meant they didn’t want him anymore. He was angry because he left home in Limpopo and moved to Gauteng for the show. He felt it was unfair that he was given a warning.”

Ndou told the publication that Muvhango told him the story was taking a different direction.

“There was nothing out of the ordinary for me. The opportunity was good and I gave it my best. I had fun with the character that I played for many years.”

Publicity specialist for video entertainment Caroline Phakatshela said the production informed Ndou and Ramakuwela about letting them go.

“The production house informed us that it communicated with MacDonald and Sydney, informing them that with the new contract, they would be placed on as call basis.”
