Kevin Smith discusses life after ‘Isidingo’ and his new role on ‘Isono’

Veteran actor Kevin Smith recently opened up about his new upcoming role on ‘Isono’ as former MK soldier Elliot King.

Actor Kevin Smith is one of the most recognisable faces on South African television.

He’s appeared in several international blockbusters, as well as local soapies and series. 

The actor is popularly known for his role of Frank Xavier on Isidingo, Adam Jantjies on Suidooster, detective Stuurman on Harvest, and many more.

KEVIN’S ROLE ON ‘ISONO’

Smith recently opened up about his new upcoming role on Isono where he will play the role of Elliot King who’s a former MK soldier.

He said he joined the show because it tells relevant stories to people who are experiencing similar situations.

He is also intrigued by the style of shooting on Isono and excited to work on BET because the channel has an audience all over Africa into the rest of the world.

The actor told IOL that Elliot is a killer with a deep heart who is connected to Nthati Moshe’s character Mother Mary.

We are going to see the duo clashing a lot as they are both daring and drawn to each other.  

When the role came up, I took it as a fantastic opportunity to work with young and emerging talents.

Soapie fans will remember Kevin from his breakout role of Shandu on Backstage.

The actor directed etv’s Scandal! and also directed Isidingo when he wasn’t playing Frank Xavier.

Smith also presented two shows namely Pasella on SABC 2 and Front Row on M-Net.

He’s also featured in Quentin Tarantino’s second and third instalment films Dusk ‘Til Dawn where he played the role of Carlos.

The actor told IOL that he’s got an upcoming show on Showmax:

It’s a completely different character about a man who is married but finds that he has a connection with another man.

It’s a completely different side for me as an actor to explore.
