Viewers of e.tv’s most-watched soapie Scandal! are wondering if the show is coming to an end as the show recently lost numerous actors this year.

The latest actor to confirm her exit is actress Sivenathi Mabuya (Xolile Langa) a few days after Brighton Ngoma (Quinton Nyathi) also bid farewell.

Just Nje has just reported that the soapie rubbished claims that it’s ending and confirmed that it’s actually rebranding.

The show has introduced new characters (the Kubekas) as the beginning of its strategy to move from being a soapie to a telenovela.

This is to suit current TV trends and compete with other telenovelas such as The River, DiepCity and The Queen.

MABUYA’S ROLE AND EXIT

The much-loved actress Sivenathi Mabuya who played Xolile for four years confirmed her exit on her social media channels two days ago (7 September).

She told her fans and followers that she won’t be appearing on the show for a while and that she was appreciative of the show for the opportunity.

She said what stood out for her was her character’s growth from being being Xolile Langa to Xolile Langa Mayiza to finally being Xolile Langa-Medupe.

Mabuya’s character was Siseko (Hlomla Dandala) and Boniswa Langa’s (Lusanda Mbane) daughter.

She married Mthunzi Meyiza (Bongile Mantsai) then divorced Mthunzi and married Romeo Medupe (Hungani Ndlovu) who also exited the show.

“This is not goodbye, this is till we meet again. I mean it’s @officialetvscandal after all.”

“Thank you for the love, support and recognition.”

“These past four years have been magical … it was an absolute honour to play this character and to be apart of many families’ lives/homes in this country.”
