‘House of Zwide’: Thembisa Mdoda will debut as Nikiwe Ndlovu tonight

Actress Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo will make her debut in ‘House of Zwide’ tonight as Nikiwe Ndlovu. She will bring trouble for Funani Zwide.

Seasoned actress Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo who is known for playing Vuyiswa Maake in The Queen is back on-screen as Nikiwe Ndlovu in e.tv’s House of Zwide.  

She will make her debut on the fashion telenovela tonight (24 February) as a former fashion model and beauty pageant owner.

PLAYING NIKIWE NDLOVU  

Fans of actress and TV host Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo will be happy to know that she’s joined the cast of House of Zwide as Nikiwe Ndlovu.  

The actress revealed in an interview with Sowetan that her character is set to bring big trouble for Funani (Vusi Kunene) and Faith Zwide (Winnie Ntshaba).  

Mdoda-Nxumalo adds that her latest role is different because she’s different.  

“Getting to know myself meant a completely new approach to this character because it’s not tainted by old habits.”

“She’s fresh, new and trouble.”

CURRENT STORYLINE IN ‘HOUSE OF ZWIDE’ 

Funani gave Lazarus his own fashion line after he attempted to leave the company to start his own line.  

Molefe found out that Isaac and Faith are hiding Ona’s identity from Funani and the rest of the family.  

He also discovered that Isaac is the one that kidnapped Ona when she was a baby and that Faith killed Ona’s mother.

THEMBISA MDODA DISCUSSES HER TIME AWAY FROM TV 

Mdoda made headlines in 2021 when she contracted Covid-19 twice and states that  it wasn’t easy getting back into the swing of things. 

She tells Sowetan that she was blessed with a beautiful cast and crew and that their support has been amazing.

“Let’s just say, my body had to play catch up with my mind because I was determined to get my life back. 

“I actually had tears in my eyes because it is euphoric.” 

She adds that she took advice of her doctors, family and therapist and took it easy and focused on her recovery.  

Her health scare has taught her to counts her blessings and recalculate her steps.
