‘Durban Gen’ goes on production break this Friday ahead of ending

The end of e.tv’s medical drama Durban Gen is looming and the to tie in some loose ends, production of the medical drama will be taking a break.

TVSA reports that Durban Gen will be going off-air from Friday 16 December and returns on Monday 9 January 2023 for a final three months or so.

END OF THE ROAD FOR DURBAN GEN

Durban Gen was slated to end in January 2023 but it seems they have received a lifeline of three months. TVSA says local reality show Men Don’t Cry will air in its timeslot from Monday 19 December while they are on a break.

In October, Durban Gen’s spokesperson Nomfundo Zondi said the extension brought a lot of changes.

“It came with drastic changes in the cast, storyline and final day. But, it should be good news to viewers because they will watch the show even after January,” she said.

BAB’GUMEDE MAKES A COMEBACK

After a number of actors and actresses were let go when the show was fast forwarded, Calvin’s father has seemingly made a comeback.

His comeback comes after his son Calvin went to try and hash out some bad blood between them on Friday’s episode. Calvin wants his father to be a part of the lobola negotiations as he plans to marry his girlfriend Nangamso.

The teasers reveal that Calvin will however cheat on his bride-to-be with someone called Celisiwe.

Thursday 15 December teaser reads:

“Calvin is feeling guilty over his actions of sleeping with Celisiwe”.

Friday 16 December teaser reads:

“Calvin wants to come clean to Jack about his salacious secret.”
