The Queen fans have eagerly been waiting for Hector and Harriet’s wedding day as the actors Rapulana Seiphemo and Connie Ferguson also played husband and wife in Generations: The Legacy as Karabo and Tau Mogale.

Viewers predicted the pair will play an on-screen couple again when Seiphemo joined the telenovela as they’re destined to be together – on TV.

HECTOR AND HARRIET VERSUS KARABO AND TAU

It felt a bit like déjà vu last night (11 April) for fans of Connie Ferguson and Rapulana Seiphemo when their characters Harriet and Hector in The Queen got married just like a decade ago in Generations: The Legacy where they played Karabo and Tau Mogale.

Harriet and Hector are more rebellious in comparison with Tau and Karabo as their families are against their union.

Their current characters don’t care about what the world thinks of them and they live in their special bubble.

Hector has calmed down from the lethal police commissioner we met two seasons ago and Harriet has softened her heart from the cold serial killer we met in season one.

She is also putting herself first instead of living on the edge and following her brother’s (Brutus) instructions.

THE QUEEN’ DIRECTOR: ‘SENTIMENTAL VENUE FOR CONNIE FERGUSON’

The Queen director Andries Van Der Merwe tells Drum Magazine that the venue was very sentimental for Connie Ferguson because she and her late husband – Shona Ferguson renewed their vows there.

Viewers will also notice that this love story is the first time the Ferguson Films creator – Connie Ferguson kisses a man in The Queen.

Mrs Ferguson never kissed other male actors on the show in previous seasons.

Van Der Merwe also tells the publication that they had to first discuss it before it happened.

This was a way for the director to show the submissive side of Harriet Khoza and make it believable, according to the article.

“It was a sort of affirmation that she is all in with this man because he is the first man in the soapie that she kissed.”

“We set up the story where eventually their love story was almost there but didn’t happen.”

“Then we got to the point where we thought it should happen, Karabo and Tau’s wedding was such a big wedding and is still the most talked-about wedding.”

“So we had to discuss how we were going to put a 2022 spin on it and still get the same vibe as 20 years before.”
