‘Skeem Saam’ actor thanks Mzansi for Royalty Soapie Award

‘Skeem Saam’ star Thabiso Molokomme, who plays Paxton Kgomo is grateful for bagging Best Actor Award at this year’s Royalty Soapie Awards.

Skeem Saam actor Thabiso Molokomme, who plays Paxton Kgomo in the educational soapie walked away with a Royalty Soapie Award in the Best Actor Award in the viewer’s choice category

ACTOR THABISO MOLOKOMME: ‘VIEWERS HAVE DECIDED’

The actor Thabiso Molokomme took to his Instagram account this week to thank Skeem Saam fans for voting for him for the Royalty Soapie Award this past weekend.

“The viewers of South Africa have decided I am their best actor. God never disappoints. While I sleep, He’s still working. Just began my acting career about a year back but I was honoured to be nominated among the legends I look up to. Thank you Mzansi, Kealeboga ka pelo yaka kamoka. I’m truly humbled.”

The star was nominated with 27 other actors in the viewer’s choice category such as Vusi Kunen from House of Zwide, Hlomla Dandala from The River, and many more. 

He was also nominated for an Outstanding Newcomer which was bagged by Vuyo Biyela, who plays Mlilo Hlophe in The River.

‘SKEEM SAAM’ STAR BAGS 20 DISTINCTIONS

The Skeem Saam actor Thabiso Molokomme made headlines in October 2022 when he bagged 20 distinctions in his diploma from the University of Johannesburg. 

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Molokomme said he worked hard and is planning to study further. He added that he worked long mornings, days, and nights to achieve his cum laude and is extremely proud of himself. 

The YOTV presenter also revealed that he comes from a well-educated family and they wouldn’t have allowed him to be an actor without backup. 

“Education has given me intellectual confidence and opened doors of inspiration. “

TVSA reports that the Royalty Soapie Awards winner’s announcement ceremony will air on SABC1 on Saturday 25 March at 20h00 as it wasn’t broadcasted live.
