‘Going back home’: Florence Masebe and Mara Louw return to ‘Muvhango’

Former ‘Muvhango’ actresses Mara Louw and Florence Masebe will make cameo appearances on the soapies 25th anniversary on Thursday (7 April).

SABC2’s Tshivenda soapie – Muvhango is bringing back fan-favourite actresses Mara Louw and Florence Masebe as part of its 25th birthday celebration this Thursday (7 April).   

Louw played the character of Catherine Mukwevho while Masebe played the role of Humbulani Rambau.

FLORENCE MASEBE AND MARA LOUW RETURN TO ‘MUVHANGO’

Popular SABC2 soapie – Muvhango is turning 25 years on television this Thursday, 7 April, and will bring back actresses Florence Masebe and Mara Louw – who exited the show more than a decade ago.   

The soapies publicist Thanduxolo Jindela told Daily Sun that the celebration will see them go with the theme:

“Ri ya Hayani” which is Venda for “going back home”.  

The show will take viewers down memory lane by bringing back familiar characters from their earlier seasons such as Mara Louw, Florence Masebe, and Lillian Dube.   

“WOM (Word of Mouth) has been planning for the past 12 months as this is a silver celebration with much-anticipated surprise reveals.  

“As the year unfolds, we will have something exciting each month, including the major drop later in the year as we close the celebration.”

DUMA NDLOVU: THE SOAPIE TURNS 25 YEARS  

Muvhango’s creator and executive producer – Duma Ndlovu told the publication that viewers are in for some excitement on Thursday.  

Duma who is also the co-founder of Imbewu: The Seed also said the show is also celebrating people who’ve been with them for a long time.  

“This silver jubilee will be a celebration of 25 years of bringing tears, smiles, and laughter to homes across the country.”  

“The year-long celebrations will mark the anniversary of the soapie by engaging passionate fans and igniting audiences’ excitement.”

“We have many exciting new things that will be announced soon, which will include a chance for viewer interactions.”

“We will also shoot scenes in Venda to celebrate our 25th anniversary, Ri ya Hayani,” he said.
