Actors Themba Ndaba and Seputla Sebogodi join ‘Redemption’

Legendary actors Themba Ndaba, Seputla Sebogodi, Tina Jaxa and more stars have joined BET_Africa’s faith- based telenovela ‘Redemption’.

The Queen’s Themba Ndaba and Kwanele Mthethwa, The River’s Seputla Sebogodi, Generations’ Tina Jaxa, and Sthandiwe Kgoroge, Entangled actress Pearl Modiadie, and more stars joined BET_Africa’s Redemption, according to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela.

Other actors to join Themba Ndaba, Seputla Sebogodi, Tina Jaxa, and Sthandiwe Kgoroge include Big Brother Mzansi’s reality TV star and actor BU, Generations: The Legacy’s Yonda Thomas, The Estate’s Sparky Xulu and more.  

According to TVSA, the new faith-based telenovela will air Mondays to Friday at 18:00 on BET_Africa from 26 September 2022.  

This is the first show that’s produced by both Seriti Films, who created Gomora, and Burnt Onion productions, who created How To Ruin Christmas.  

The show is set in a megachurch and the story centres around the Zikode family, who are highly respected in the way mega-church families are, but darkness beneath the surface of their “glory”.  

Faith, played by former The Queen star Kwanele Mthethwa will drop everything and find out who her family is when she returns home after her father’s (Pastor Zikode, played by Themba Ndaba) disappearance.

PRODUCTION CONFIRMS PREMIERE OF ‘REDEMPTION’   

According to the statement from the production company:  

“As Faith immerses herself in the church and the family’s affairs, she uncovers devastating secrets about those closest to her and is confronted with her skeletons. Dark truths come to light and the Zikode family is faced with many baffling decisions as they scramble to salvage the family’s legacy.”  

Durban Gen’s Tina Jaxa will play Themba Ndaba’s wife Evelyn Zikode, and Seputla Sebogodi will play a villain.  

It is revealed that former Metro FM radio personality Pearl Modiadie, who currently stars in Black Tax and previously starred in Entangled will have also joined the show as well as Yonda Thomas, and Sparky Xulu, who recently left The Estate. 

Rhythm City and The River star Zenzo Ngqobe, The Queen star Peter Mashigo, and Gomora actress Leera Mthethwa have also joined the telenovela.  

More stars include Pakamisa Zwedala, Mmarona Motshegoa, and Sonni Chidiebere.
