Actress Amo Chidi teases her next gig after ‘Rhythm City’ cancellation

Actress Amo Chidi has just landed a role on a comedy film ‘Mjolo ke Scam’ after taking a break from television for two years.

Former Rhythm City actress Amo Chidi who played the role of Reneilwe on the canned soapie is returning to television following a two-year break.

The mother of one took to social media to share the news that she’ll be starring in her first comedy film titled Mjolo Ke Scam which will air on Mzansi Magic on 31 July.

HER CO-STARS ON THE FILM

  • The film will also feature former Isibaya actor Zakhele mabasa who played the role of Skhaleni for eight seasons.
  • Comedienne and actress Khanyisa Bunu who is best known for her starring role as domestic worker Nobuhle on the sitcom Ses’Top La will also feature on the show.
  • Actor Ebenhaezer dibakwane who rose to fame after winning the Newcomer Award at the 6th annual Savanna Comic’s Choice Awards in September 2016 will also appear on the show.

RHYTHM CITY EXIT

 The TV presenter surprised her followers when she announced her exit after eight years before e.tv announced the show’s cancellation.

 The actress bid farewell to the show and stated:

It’s been a great honour to have shared the past 8 years of my career with an excellent cast and crew. It is bittersweet to say goodbye; you will be greatly missed.

Thank you to my fans for the unwavering support. As I humbly begin the next chapter of my career. I’d like to wish my Rhythm City family continued success.

Amo also starred as a top 40 finalist on the M-Net’s reality competition High School Musical: Spotlight South Africa.

She also presented the kiddies show Craze on e.tv for several years before joining Rhythm City.
