Happy Birthday ‘Skeem Saam’! We are going back in time to remember some of the most explosive episodes that viewers still talk about today in honour of Skeem Saam‘s ten year anniversary.

Here’s a list of some memorable episodes that took place in September 2014:

Lelo Mthiyane (Amanda du Pont) was studying at Turfloop University where she met Kwaito Seakamela (Clement Maosa) who was still a learner at Turfloop High.

Kwaito had his first intimate relationship with Lelo but later cheated on her with Rachel Kunutu (Lesego Marakalla) who was also studying at Turfloop High at the time.

This is where we discovered Lelo’s psychological issues, her need to have power over men and control them..

Kwaito had just written one of the best novels in the country at the time and Lelo wanted his royalty money.

She stalked Kwaito, discovered he was cheating on her and eventually kidnapped him.

She drugged him, put him in a suitcase and left Turfloop with him when he realised that she was after his royalty money.

NIMZA JOINS ‘SKEEM SAAM

Nimza (Buhle Maseko) was the late Ben Kunutu’s illegitimate son who was abandoned when he was very young.

He and his mother left Turfloop for Johannesburg and Nimza was raised by his mother Fikile in Johannesburg as a single mother who also passed away.

The Kunutus discovered Nimza at an orphanage in Mpumalanga towards the end of August 2014 and brought him back to Turfloop in September 2014.

Nimza was a teenager when his uncle Charles Kunutu found him in an orphanage headed by Aus Tlaki (Thembsie Matu).

Aus Tlaki was an unkind woman with a firm hand who emotionally abused the children at the orphanage.

Celia (Shoki Mmola) and Nimza didn’t have a great start to their relationship as Nimza used to steal her money in the house.

She even suggested that his uncle Charles (Masilo Magoro) raise him but he wouldn’t hear it because he wanted his brother’s children (Rachel and Nimza) to be raised together under one roof.
