DStv confirms replacement for ‘The Queen’ and cancellation of ‘Lingashoni’

DStv has announced that ‘The Queen’ will end on 13 January 2023 and that ‘Lingashoni’ will air its final episode on 16 March 2023.

DStv has confirmed the cancellation of Mzansi Magic’s telenovela – The Queen and also announced the cancellation of 1Magic’s telenovela Lingashoni in 2023.  

The channel says the final episode of The Queen will air on 13 January 2023 and that the last episode of Lingashoni will air on 16 March 2023.

DSTV: ‘THE QUEEN’ ENDS!  

DStv is cancelling popular telenovelas – Lingashoni which airs on 1Magic and The Queen Mzansi Magic in 2023.  

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela – revealed the news this afternoon and shared the channel’s statements:

“Local Entertainment Channels have announced Mzansi Magic’s The Queen and 1Magic’s Lingashoni final seasons are ending in March 2023.”  

“The Queen producers, Ferguson Films will shoot season seven of the show which will premiere in July 2022, and viewers will continue to enjoy the telenovela on their screens until its final episode airs on 13 January 2023.”  

“The 1Magic telenovela, Lingashoni, produced by Stained Glass TV, will come to an end after its second season concludes on 16 March 2023. This follows the season’s premiere on 21 March 2022.”

ANGELA SITHOLE SCORES ROLE IN ‘LINGASHONI’  

1Magic’s popular telenovela – Lingashoni made headlines yesterday (3 March) when it announced that Thuli Thabethe has been replaced by Imbewu: The Seed actress Angela Sithole for the role of Puleng Cele.     

Pule Cele is the first wife of Mandla Cele – played by a former Scandal! actor Patrick Mofokeng.    

Mandla Cele’s second wife is played by former Muvhango actress Liteboho Molise – who played the role of Teboho Mukwevho.
