In celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s 70th year on the throne, the United Kingdom is gearing up for the Platinum Jubilee weekend which kicks off on Thursday 2 June. At an exciting time like this, the last thing the royal family needs is controversy but comedy band The Kunts says it’s the perfect time to air out some grievances.

In their latest song release titled Prince Andrew Is a Sweaty N****, The Kunts addresses sexual assault allegations against the Duke of York, Prince Andrew.

THE KUNTS ON ‘PRINCE ANDREW IS A SWEATY N****’

In 2014, Virginia Giuffre alleged that Prince Andrew sexually assaulted her as a 17-year-old in the United States. The 61-year-old denied the allegation and reached a £12 million (R233 million) settlement with Giuffre.

Speaking to NME about their new track, which was released on Friday 27 May, The Kunts’ frontman Kunt, says during the 70s, a Jubilee celebration was always a good time to address certain things.

“The timing this year felt perfect, given Prince Andrew’s bizarre, shameful and cowardly behaviour as he attempted to dodge any sort of accountability for the alleged sexual assault on Virginia Giuffre, followed by the attempt to sweep it all under the carpet with an out-of-court settlement,” explained Kunt.

As per the Urban Dictionary, a “n***” refers to someone who is a paedophile.

A MESSAGE TO THE ROYAL FAMILY

Following the release of Prince Andrew Is a Sweaty N****, The Kunts’ frontman said he has received some backlash from the royal family adding that they were “generally scared of change”.

He also had a special message for the royal family…

“I can’t help thinking that in a day and age where there are families reliant on foodbanks to feed their children and old ladies riding around on buses because they can’t afford to heat their homes, the idea that there is this family who live in castles and palaces, and whose crowns gilded with gold and jewels get ferried around in specially built Rolls Royces does feel a bit like something that we as a society should have risen up and put a stop to by now.”
