RE.DECAY’S SONGWRITING CAMP

Re.decay has worked with some of the world’s brightest artists including Mzansi’s Shekinah, The Roots, Big Boi, Tim Turner, Slim Lucius, Sigrid, Alle Farben and more. The international music duo is committed to sharing its industry knowledge with rising South African stars.

Their songwriting camp will focus on writing, producing and releasing chart-topping hits. Young artists have been invited to apply for a place at the camp and 12 applicants will be selected to participate.

Throughout the week-long songwriting camp, Re.decay will take the young artists through three workshops, a listening party and transparent contracts.

WHAT ELSE TO EXPECT

Emanuel Bender says the group will create a space where artists can be creative and learn from each other musically.

“Insights from a wide range of industry professionals will provide a transparent view of the difficulties that come with entering such a competitive field, sparking thoughts and conversations about creativity, self-worth, female empowerment and organised finances,” added Bender.

To ensure that the songwriting camp is a success, Re.decay has teamed up with the Africa Rising Conference (ARMC).

“One of the core themes of ARMC is to build bridges. We are happy to have introduced Re.decay to various local partners and delighted to be supporting this amazing initiative,” said the founder of ARMC, Sarah Jane Nicholson.
