Remembering Nightbirde: Family release heartfelt video to honour singer

To honour her memory, the Marczewski family released Nightbirde’s original song ,’Fly’, and a heartwarming music video.

Jane Marczewski, better known as Nightbirde, stole the judges’ hearts on America’s Got Talent in 2021 when she auditioned with her inspirational song, It’s OK. The talented singer-songwriter passed away at the age of 31 on 21 February after a long battle with cancer. To honour Nightbirde’s memory, the Marczewski family released her original song, Fly with a powerful music video full of clips from her last days.

NIGHTBIRDE’S DEATH 

Shortly before her America’s Got Talent audition in June 2021, Nightbirde told the judges that her breast cancer had spread to her spine and liver and she had a 2% chance of survival. The songstress did not let the news stop her performance. 

“It’s important to know that I’m so much more than the bad things that happen to me,” she confidently said during the audition.

Unfortunately, the talented songstress could not continue in the competition due to her deteriorating health. 

As per TMZ, Nightbirde lost her battle with cancer on 21 February. 

MARCZEWSKI FAMILY RELEASE ‘FLY’

Taking to Nightbirde’s Instagram account on 23 July, the Marczewski family shared that they felt the world should see some of the singer’s last memories from her cellphone. 

“So we layered that with one of her songs, Fly and teamed up with a long-time friend of Jane’s, Ryan Carl,  to weave together these moments for an official Fly music video. 

“We will leave you all with Jane’s words we started with: ‘Because hope is the bird that sings even when she can’t see the dawn.”

SIMON COWELL REMEMBERS NIGHTBIRDE

Taking to Instagram on 6 July, Simon Cowell remembered Nightbirde as “one of the most inspirational people” he has ever met. 

“She was so incredibly brave and I m very grateful she chose America’s Got Talent to show the world her talent. I will never forget this moment.”
