Award-winning Canadian alt-pop duo Neon Dreams wrapped their 10-day South African tour with an exceptional performance in Bryanston, in the north of Johannesburg on Sunday 8 May. The band’s Joburg fans came out in their numbers as they rocked the crowd for their last local performance. 

Before Neon Dreams hit the stage, the crowd was treated to stellar performances by Canadian band New City, TikTok sensation Casey Lowry and Durban-born muso, Majozi.

NEW CITY ROCK THE STAGE 

New City is a Canadian pop-rock trio based in Toronto. The group, made up of Adrian Mitchell, Jed Webster and Nathan Brown, were visiting South Africa for the first time. 

The group performed a few of their hit songs in Johannesburg on 8 May including their 2021 single. Losing My Mind.  

Although they’ve already jetted off to Canada for more performances, the band promised that they would return to South Africa.

CASEY LOWRY AND MAJOZI 

After New City performed, Durban-based muso Majozi hit the stage and brought some colour to Johannesburg with his bright outfit. Majozi and Neon Dreams collaborated on Little Dance which was released earlier this year. 

Majozi performed Darling and Fire and more. He also joined Neon Dreams on stage for a performance of Little Dance which had the crowd singing every lyric! 

English singer-songwriter Casey Lowry toured South Africa with Neon Dreams. The 23-year-old wowed the crowd with some of his most popular songs including his hit single Boyfriend, his upbeat 2020 single Trampoline and a cover of Madcon’s Beggin

NEON DREAMS SAYS GOODBYE TO SA

Neon Dreams made up of Adrian Morris and Frank Kadillac, were the last performers of the evening. 

The crowd screamed for Neon Dreams as they hit the stage to perform hits like High School Dropout, Times Square and Little Dance. The band closed off the hour-long concert with a performance of their viral hit, Life Without Fantasies.

As the duo bid farewell to Mzansi during Life Without Fantasies, they promised their fans that they’d be back in South Africa soon!
