Could Kendrick Lamar surprise fans with a new single? [watch]

It is reported that rapper Kendrick Lamar could release a new single ahead of his Super Bowl halftime performance on 13 February.

For more than three years, hip-hop lovers have waited on the edge of their seats for new music from Grammy award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar. The rapper released his last album in 2017 but new music might be on the way from him soon…

Billboard reports that according to sources, a new single from the 34-year-old rapper could be released on 4 or 11 February, just days before he performs at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday 13 February. 

NEW MUSIC ON THE WAY? 

Kendrick Lamar is one of the few artists who have kept their fans waiting for new music. According to Billboard, fans might not have to wait any longer. 

Sources told the publication that Lamar is set to release a new single on 4 February or 11 February ahead of his Super Bowl halftime performance on 13 February. 

Although the news is yet to be confirmed by the rapper, fans are hopeful that they’ll be adding a new Kendrick Lamar song to their playlist soon.

FANS CAN’T WAIT FOR NEW MUSIC 

Fans took to Twitter to express their excitement about the possibility of new music from Kendrick Lamar. 

One tweep wrote: “Achinng for Kendrick Lamar to put out some music.” 

“Life is going to be good again when Kendrick drops new music,” wrote another tweep. 

“I don’t know why but I feel like February and April is the perfect time for Kendrick Lamar to drop some new music.” 

SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW 

The Super Bowl halftime show takes place during the National Football League (NFL) final. AV Club described it as a concert to “break up the action of the game”. 

The Super Bowl halftime shows have seen performances from some of the world’s biggest musicians including Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, Shakira, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé and Maroon 5. 

On Sunday 13 February, R&B singer Mary J Blige will take the stage with Eminem. Joining them will be Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre.
