‘Tsela Tse Nyane’: Focalistic leads police on wild goose chase

Focalistic aka President ya Straata has been dropping hit after hit following the release of his sophomore album, ‘Ghetto Gospel’.

Focalistic has been consistent in dropping hits, the Internationally recognised award winning lyricist premiered visuals for his hit Tsela Tse Nyane for the first time on MTV Base Spanking New Premier on 9 December.

Standing on 31.4 million streams on Spotify Focalistic also know as President ya Straata which translate to the president of the streets has been dominating the streets with amapiano hits following the release of his album Ghetto Gospel.

The music video for Tsela Tse Nyane builds on the story-line of previous singles Sjepa, Tabela Hape and Pele Pele. On the video Focalistic and his entourage who happen to be Mellow, Sleezy, MJ and Pabi Cooper are chased down by the police in what looks like an informal township after a successful robbery.

FOCALISTIC PREACHING THE GHETTO GOSPEL

Ghetto Gospel is an impressive compilation of a 15-track project featuring the likes of Felo Le Tee, Elaine, DBN Gogo, Pabi Cooper, Justin99 and Herc Cut The Lights, with the bulk of the album produced by Mellow and Sleezy.

The sophomore album is a blend of amapiano sounds and hybrid kwaito-esque rap style featuring his signature Pitori language.

Other than dancefloor bangers and fan favourites like Tsela Tse Nyane, Tabela Hape and Sjepa, Focalistic also address real issues such as the venom that comes with fame on the opening track Dipuo.

Focalistic’s big break came in 2018 following his association with the DJ duo Major League DJz after Sjava co-signed him on twitter and later scoring an invite from Major League to pop in at the studio.

AFRICA’S BRIGHTEST TALENT

The 26-year-old announced his arrival as one of the continents brightest talents for his role on the amapiano collaboration Champion sounds featuring afro beats star Davido.

Following the collaboration Focalistic has since then travelled the world placing the amapiano on the global map.

Focalistic credits amapiano for youth empowerment and says he will still be unemployed if it was not for the genre.

“Amapiano has done more for the youth and for kasi more than the government. I probably would still be unemployed. If you take a look at the economy, Amapiano is basically carrying it on its back,” he said.
