Over the years, amapiano giant DJ Maphorisa has collaborated with the best of the best. The star producer and vocalist has worked with the likes of Shekinah, Mafikizolo and Tresor.

The award-winning producer and Nigerian superstar Wizkid linked up in Lagos, Nigeria for a hot studio session. This comes after the pair collaborated on Maphorisa’s Soweto Baby in 2015.

MAPHORISA AND WIZKID’S RELATIONSHIP

DJ Maphorisa’s Soweto Baby featuring Wizkid and DJ Bucks was a seamless collaboration between Mzansi and Nigeria.

In 2021, the star producer shared that Wizkid “put him onto” amapiano music. The two were at a club in Pretoria in 2016 when they heard Calvin Fallo’s remix of Babes Wodumo’s hit track, Wololo

“He asked me: ‘What’s this sound? It’s giving me goosebumps.’”

“That’s when I really took amapiano seriously. Listening is a good skill.”
