Genre-bending artist Costa Titch has more to celebrate after bagging six nominations at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). The rapper has officially broken the record for the most-viewed amapiano music video, Big Flexa. Titch has scored more than 30 million views on the video.

COSTA TITCH BREAKS AN AMAPIANO RECORD!
Costa Titch’s amapiano single, Big Flexa, was released in December 2021. The track features Alfa Kat, Banaba Des, Sdida, Man T and C’buda M. In the song’s music video, the rapper shows off his impeccable dancing skills with Soweto’s Finest, a local dance group.
The video has officially reached 30.7 million views on YouTube, beating out MFR Souls, Major League DJz, Bontle Smith and Kamo Mphela’s Amanikiniki, which stands at 30 million.
Big Flexa has also wowed fans on other Spotify and TikTok. On Spotify, the track has accumulated more than six million listens while on TikTok, the sound has been used more than 105 000 times.

2022 AFRIMAS
The South African rapper is the most-nominated artist ahead of the 2022 AFRIMAs. Titch has tied with Congolese artist, Dadju. The Nelspruit-born rapper has been nominated in the Breakout Artiste, Best Artiste, Duo or Group in Use of African Dance/Choreography and Song of the Year for Big Flexa.
This year, 9 067 entries were received for this year’s awards which is the highest number ever received. Southern African artists scored 68 nominations in total.
Other artists who are set to represent South Africa include Zakes Bantwini, Focalistic, DJ Zinhle, Makhadzi, Master KG, Blxckie, A-Reece and Nadia Nakai.

COSTA TITCH RELEASES ‘SUPERSTAR’
The 27-year-old released his new single, Superstar, on 7 October. The single features Ma Gang Official and Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz.
